Poster announcing a collaborative workshop given by Matthew Carter and Irma Boom. The poster is intended to represent both Carter and Boom’s work. The layering and colors refer to Irma Boom’s book designs, and the formal play with letterforms are a reference to the type design of Matthew Carter. In addition to the formal references, the gradation represents the fact that the dates were constantly changing and ultimately the workshop never took place.

Yale School of Architecture Retrospecta 2006 / 2007.
Designed with Daniel Harding.
This book is a yearly publication from the Yale School of Architecture reviewing the past year’s courses, student work, and events.This year the editors requested that there be special emphasis on the dialogue that takes place during student reviews. Daniel and I created a flexible system to handle the content and a way to bring the images of the student work to life. It was important for us to have a book that was completely accessible and legible, while at the same time not letting either the text or the images fade into the background.

Yale School of Architecture Year-End Exhibition of Student Work 06/07.Designed with Ken Meier and Mary Voorhees. Given the title “Well Done” we created an identity for the show based around the graphic language of congratulatory stickers.Instead of designing a template for the student posters, we decided to create giant stickers to contain student information. The students had a choice of color, typeface and sticker placement. All section signs were also set in different typefaces, again chosen to reference congratulatory sticker graphic language.
